00% pure essential oil of Myrra

Certified vegan by The Vegan Society. Certified cruelty free.

Myrrh was one of the three gifts that the wise men gave to the baby Jesus and it was also used for embalming after the crucifixion. Myrrh and frankincense have been mandatory ingredients in religious incense for thousands of years, and are used to this day in the Catholic Church. Both are considered soothing, focusing and concentrating, and the essential oils are therefore great to use in meditation and prayer. Myrrh should also be an important tool when you are stuck, either spiritually or emotionally, and help you move forward.

The myrtle tree grows in desert areas in eastern Africa (Somalia, Ethiopia and parts of Kenya), Saudi Arabia and Yemen. The bark is light and the kva that seeps out of it hardens quickly on contact with air and forms small tear-shaped lumps of myrrh.

The essential oil obtained by steam distillation of pure myrrh is dark amber in color and has many valuable properties.

NB!  Myrrh oil is a very thick, viscous oil extracted from Myrrh resin. To be able to get the drop out of the bottle, it must be put in a cup  hot water  until the oil becomes more liquid. Put the bottle in a plastic bag before putting it in the hot water, then you are sure that there is no water in the bottle and the label stays in place. If you get a lot of myrrh oil on the cork, this can be a little difficult to open later when the "kvaen" has hardened. A tip is therefore to lubricate a few drops with Fractionated Coconut Oil around the opening / in the cork threads. Coconut oil is preferable as it is durable for many years just as Myrrh oil is.

Tips and use of Myrra:

Dilution

Myrrh oil is one  very thick , viscous oil extracted from Myrra resin .. To clear a few drops out of the bottle, this must be put in a cup with  hot water  until the oil becomes more liquid.

Use about 20 drops or just 1 ml of essential oil to 100 ml of base oil. You can use up to 3% dilution for use on the body or in the bathroom.

Massage

Use in a massage mixture with base oil such as jojoba oil, preferably with added Frankinsence Carteri to enjoy the balancing and meditative properties.

In diffuser or oil lamp:

Feel free to use a mixture of Myrra, Frankinsence and Orange essential oils in a diffuser or  oil lamp. Then you get a wonderful aroma that gives a de-stressing and uplifting effect.

Skin care:

A good oil for skin care, especially mature skin. Fine to oily skin especially with fractionated coconut oil as base oil which gives a light facial oil.

As with any new product, always perform a patch test before first use.

Summary  / areas of activity:

Myrrh is a relatively mild oil that does not irritate or sensitize but it should not be used in too high concentrations, and not by pregnant women, especially not early in pregnancy. As with most essential oils, pure myrrh oil should not be used internally.

General precautions when using essential oils:

Remember that all essential oils should be used with great care and respect. These drops are very potent and should be kept out of the reach of children. Pregnant women should avoid all essential oils and people with epilepsy, asthma and high blood pressure should check specifically regarding the individual oils.

Never use essential oils internally. There are some exceptions for some of the oils as a flavoring, but then only in microscopic amounts mixed with liquid or the like. In fact, drinking only a few milliliters of essential oil can, in the worst case, be fatal.

Always read a little before you start experimenting with essential oils and remember to check that they are labeled 100% pure essential oils.
